Nakanjako Jane Namuli

I grew up dreaming of becoming a doctor.

That dream lived in me for years quiet, steady, and full of hope. And when life didn’t go the way I planned, it would have been so easy to feel defeated. But I didn’t. I held on to myself. I kept going, even when the path changed, even when I had to trade one vision for another.

In May 2026, I was given an opportunity to join Emetack as a receptionist.

It wasn’t the hospital I imagined, but it was still a place where I could help people. Every day, I welcome clients with respect. I handle problems as they come. I support the team in ways I used to think were “small,” until I realized that small things can be what keeps everything together. And while I may not be saving lives in an operating room, I am still saving the day in my own way, through consistency, care, and the willingness to learn.

What moves me most is that I’m not only doing the job, I’m becoming someone through it.

I love learning new computer skills. Each small win, each question answered, each screen understood, each step I take without being afraid, builds my confidence in a way I can’t fully explain. Some days, I’m not just learning technology. I’m learning that I can grow. I’m learning that I belong here.

The Emetack team has been incredibly patient with me. They don’t make me feel behind. They encourage me. They guide me. And I learn something new almost every day, which reminds me that progress is real, even when it happens quietly.

Working at Emetack also taught me something deeply important: you don’t need to start as a programmer to grow in ICT. You don’t need a perfect beginning. You just need curiosity. You need courage. And you need the determination to keep trying, even when you’re not sure you’re ready yet.

My goal now is to become successful, not because of a title, but because of what success represents. I’ve learned that success isn’t about where you start. It’s about not quitting when the path changes. It’s about trusting that your story is still unfolding, even when it doesn’t look like what you first imagined. And that’s the truth I carry with me: I came with a dream of helping others. Now I’m learning how to keep helping, every day.
